Lamborghini Egoista

The Lamborghini Egoista is a concept sports car unveiled by Lamborghini for the company's 50th anniversary. The fully functioning model is based on the Gallardo. It features a 5.2 L (317 cu in) V10 engine producing 600 hp (447 kW; 608 PS). The Lamborghini Egoista has a unique one-seat cockpit, which is similar to that of a modern fighter jet, and has a canopy door that is completely removable. The steering wheel must be removed to enter and exit the vehicle like F1. The unique exterior of the Lamborghini Egoista is meant to resemble a bull ready to charge if looked at from the side. The lighting resembles that of a modern airplane, with sidemarkers and indicators on the sides and top of the car as well as front and rear. The bodywork consists of active aerodynamic panels that raise and lower for optimum downforce and stability. Lobini H1

The Lobini H1 is a sports car produced by the Brazilian automaker Lobini. It first appeared in 2005 and went through a minor redesign in 2007. It has a carbon steel tubular chassis and a fiberglass body shell. It makes use of a Volkswagen 1.8L turbocharged 20V engine, the same used in some versions of both Volkswagen Golf and Audi A3. The Lobini H1 was idealized by Jos� Orlando Lobo and F�bio Birolini, and is the first car to be produced by Lobini. It was designed by Graham Holmes, former Lotus designer, and was clearly inspired by the Lotus Elise. The car's prototype was first presented to the public at the 22nd S�o Paulo Motor Show, in 2002, and the first finished unit was sold in 2005. The Marussia B1 is the first sports car of the Marussia B series, and also the first sports car produced by Marussia Motors. The car's structure is an aluminum semi-monocoque design. The car's engines are produced by British engineering company Cosworth. Marussia plan to only produce 2999 B1s. Engine power is 360 or 420 hp, top speed is 305 km/h (190 mph) and it accelerates from 0�100 km/h (0-62 mph) in 3.2 seconds.

The Mazel Identity i1 is a two-seater Spanish sports car concept, which has been produced by Mazel with cooperation and input from the H2R Design firm. It was presented at the 2006 Geneva Motor Show. The sports car is 4.43 metres (174.4 in) in length, 1.92 metres (75.6 in) wide and is 1.26 metres (49.6 in) in height, with a wheelbase of 2.69 metres (105.9 in). It has an aluminium 8-cylinder engine mounted in central position, with rear-wheel drive, and maybe brought into full production in the future.

Mazda Kabura

The Mazda Kabura is a concept sports car shown by the Japanese manufacturer Mazda in 2006. The Kabura, introduced at the 2006 North American International Auto Show, is a sport compact which shows styling themes and technologies which could appear in future production models. It was designed in Irvine, California by Mazda of North America design chief Franz von Holzhausen, whose past projects have included the Audi TT and Pontiac Solstice. Kabura incorporates the front-engine, rear-drive layout similar to the Mazda MX-5 and the Mazda RX-8 and hints of physical design characteristics similar to the Mazda RX-8 and the discontinued Mazda MX-3. Instead of a typical 2+2 layout, the Kabura has an unusual 3+1 arrangement, giving greater passenger space versus a traditional coupe, without increasing weight or size. The Matra 530 is a sports car created and built by the French engineering group Matra. In 1965 Matra's CEO Jean-Luc Lagard�re decided to develop a successor to the Matra Djet that was more appealing to the non-racing public - a voiture des copains (car for chums). The result was the Matra M530, the first "true" Matra sports car, the Djet having been a Ren� Bonnet design. The car was named after Matra's R.530 missile, and was designed by former Simca designer Philippe Gu�don. Like its predecessor, the M530 was built on a steel frame with polyester body and a mid-engine layout. To accommodate 2+2 seating, a mid-mounted engine and a reasonable boot, various engine options were considered. The Maserati Barchetta was a mid-engined, two-door, two-seat sports car, like the 350 and 450S, that was designed by Carlo Gaino of the "Synthesis Design", an Italian design house. Thirteen examples of the racing model were produced at De Tomaso's factory in Modena, plus two prototypes (one racing-corsa, one street-stradale). It featured a mid-engine V6 AM501 Maserati biturbo engine 1996cc (red intake manifold for the Corsa) an evolution of the AM490 (black intake manifold used for the Stradale), a central frame holding an integral fuel tank and a very light glass fiber/carbon fiber spyder body, accelerating the car to about 180 mph (290 km/h). Lamborghini Cal�, also known as the Italdesign Cal�, was a concept sports car designed for Lamborghini by Italdesign Giugiaro. It was first shown at the 1995 Geneva Motor Show. It was a completely functional prototype that never made it into production. Its name was derived from the Piedmentese dialect of Northern Italy and meant �look, over there!� The Cal� was designed to fill Lamborghini's need for a replacement for the Jalpa, which discontinued production in 1988 at the behest of then owners of the company, Chrysler. In 1994 Chrysler sold Lamborghini to Megatech, the Cal� design took shape, but when Megatech sold Lamborghini to the Volkswagen Group in 1998, the concept was shelved. The Jalpa replacement would not be found in Lamborghini's lineup until 2003, with the release of the Lamborghini Gallardo. The Koenigsegg Regera is a limited production, plug-in hybrid sports car manufactured by Swedish high-performance sports carmaker Koenigsegg. It was unveiled at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show. The name Regera is a Swedish verb, meaning "to reign" or "to rule." Only 80 units will be built, all of which have already been sold, each costing approximately US$1.9 million. The Regera was created and designed to be a more practical, luxurious, hypercar alternative to the rest of Koenigsegg's lightweight hypercar lineup, including the Agera RS and the One:1. Koenigsegg states that the Regera will be the most powerful and fastest accelerating production car ever. The Keating TKR is a British sports car. It uses parts from the Saleen S7 and the Pagani Zonda. The company that produces it (Keating; formerly known as Barabus Sportscars Ltd) was founded by Tony Keating and is based in Bolton, Greater Manchester, England. The TKR features a twin turbo-charged 7.0L V8 petrol engine derived from the General Motors LS (LS7) series developing 2,002 hp (1,493 kW). According to Keating, it can accelerate from 0-60 in 2 seconds. The TKR has been recorded travelling at 260.1 mph at the El Mirage Lake, California. In 2010 the TKR was set to be the car of choice to break the blind land speed record. Unfortunately, the car crashed on a test run and was unable to break this record.

Jenard Jabeka

The Jenard Jabeka was a British sportscar manufactured in 1956, by G. A. Elsmore of Yeovil, Somerset in the United Kingdom. The two-seater sportscar had a tubular chassis with an Austin A40 or Coventry Climax 1,100 cc (67 cu in) engine. It used the Austin running gear and transmission with Woodhead-Monroe dampers. The car never made it to full production and only one car survives. This car was featured in an episode of the TV series Classic Car Club presented by Tony Mason. It was similar in appearance to the Kieft Cars sportscar of the same period.

Jaguar D-Type

The Jaguar D-Type is a sports racing car produced by Jaguar Cars Ltd. between 1954 and 1957. Although it shares the basic straight-6 XK engine and many of its mechanical components with the C-Type, its aviation industry influenced structure was radically different. Innovative monocoque construction and an aeronautical approach to aerodynamic efficiency brought aviation technology to competition car design Engine displacement began at 3.4 litres, was enlarged to 3.8 L in 1957, and reduced to 3.0 L in 1958 when Le Mans rules limited engines for sports racing cars to that maximum. Infiniti Emerg-e

The Infiniti Emerg-E is a concept sports car developed by the Infiniti division of Nissan Motors and was unveiled to the public at the 2012 Geneva Motor Show. It is based on the Lotus Evora platform and the hybrid powertrain shown in 2012 as the Lotus 414E concept car. The Emerg-E has two electric motors, one powering each rear wheel, producing a total of 402 bhp (300 kW; 408 PS) with 738 lb�ft (1,001 N�m) of torque, and providing acceleration to 60 mph in four seconds. The Emerg-E has a 30 miles (48.3 km) electric-only range, after which a small 47 bhp (35 kW; 48 PS) three-cylinder 1.2 L (1198 cc) petrol engine kicks in to recharge the lithium-ion battery pack. The car can also be plugged in to recharge. The mid-engined two-seater sports car may not reach production, but was shown as a working prototype at the 2012 Goodwood Festival of Speed.

The Hulme F1 is a proposed sports car to be manufactured by New Zealand boutique company Hulme Supercars Ltd. Its name is taken after the 1967 Formula One World Champion, New Zealander Denny Hulme. It is powered by the 7.0 L LS7 V8 sourced from the Chevrolet Corvette C6 and produces 600 hp (450 kW) However, mated to a 2,182.7 lb (990.1 kg) weight gives it a power-to-weight ratio of 3.6 lb (1.6 kg) per hp.

HTT Pl�thore

The HTT Pl�thore was supposed to be the first Canadian supercar, developed and produced by HTT Automobile in Quebec, Canada. However the company has been inactive in recent years. It debuted at the 2007 Montreal International Auto Show as a pre-production prototype under the name "Locus Pl�thore", under the supervision of Luc Chartrand. It has a supercharged 6.2L V8 with 750 hp (560 kW) and 655 lb�ft (888 N�m) of torque or an optional high performance home made engine with 1,100 hp (820 kW). This engine is supported by Pratt & Miller and based on the supercharged V8 from the Corvette ZR1. The chassis and body are made entirely out of carbon fibre with no engine subframe, resulting in the chassis being exceptionally rigid. The S500 was the second production sports car from Honda, released in 1963, following the T360 truck into production by four months. It was a larger displacement variant of the S360 roadster which, though developed for sale in 1962, was never produced. Like the S360, the S500 used a high-tech engine developed from Honda's motorcycle expertise. It was a dual overhead cam straight-4 with four Keihin carburettors and a 9500 rpm redline. Originally intended to displace 492 cc, the production version was 531 cc and produced 44 hp at 8000 rpm. Weighing just 1500 lb (680 kg), the tiny S500 could hit 80 mph (129 km/h). At the time of its introduction, its dimensions and engine displacement were larger than established Kei car regulations. The Ginetta G15 was a British sports car made by the Ginetta company in Witham, Essex between 1968 and 1974. The car was initially available only in kit form but later some factory built examples were available. It was launched at the 1967 London Motor Show. The body was of glass fibre and was mounted on a tubular steel chassis. The engine and four speed transmission were taken from the Hillman Imp range and were rear-mounted driving the rear wheels. The suspension was by independent coil springs at the front and rear with the front steering/suspension derived from the Triumph Herald. The car used 13 in (330 mm) wheels as opposed to the 12 in (305 mm) of the Imp giving higher gearing. The front compartment where the engine would have been on a front engined car contained the fuel tank and spare wheel leaving no room for luggage. FMR Tg500

The FMR Tg500 was a sports car built by Fahrzeug- und Maschinenbau GmbH, Regensburg (FMR) from 1958 to 1961. Based on the Messerschmitt Kabinenroller monocoque, which otherwise was a platform for three-wheelers, the Tg500 was a four-wheeled car with a two-stroke straight-two engine. FMR had taken over production of the KR200 from Messerschmitt in 1956. While the KR200 still used the Messerschmitt name and logo, the Tg500 was badged as an FMR. "Tg" unofficially stood for Tiger. The "Tiger" name was claimed in Germany by Krupp, who used it on one of their trucks. There was also a Panhard Dyna Z Tiger at the same time. The Fiat 8V (or "Otto Vu") is a V8-engined sports car produced by the Italian car manufacturer Fiat from 1952 to 1954. The car was introduced at the 1952 Geneva Motor Show. The Fiat 8V got its name because at the time of its making Ford had a copyright on the term V8. With 114 made, the 8V wasn't a commercial success, but did well in racing. Apart from the differential the car did not share any parts with the other Fiats (but many parts were made by Siata and they used them for their cars). The 8V was developed by Dante Giacosa and the stylist Luigi Rapi. The engine was a V8 originally designed for a luxury sedan, but that project was stopped. The Fiat V8 had a 70 degree V configuration, displaced 1,996 cc and was fitted with two twin-choke Weber 36 DCF 3 carburettors. The DC Avanti is a coupe styled sports car produced by DC Design, an Indian design firm headed by Dilip Chhabria. Its name was based on the Studebaker Avanti. It was unveiled at the 2012 Auto Expo in New Delhi. The Avanti is powered by 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine producing 250 bhp with a six-speed manual transmission.A Iimited edition model launched in 2015 comes with 310 bhp output and paddle shifters. The car's frame is made of composite high steel and the body consists of carbon composite, to create a strong, yet lightweight vehicle. It has a multi-tube triangulated steel space frame chassis, front engine and rear wheel or four wheel drive. The body is constructed in Glass-Reinforced Polymer (GRP) with optional aluminium side panels and bonnet. It complies with the Single Vehicle Approval (SVA) scheme. Costin Amigo

The Costin Amigo was a lightweight sports car built in the United Kingdom in the 1970s. It was designed by Frank Costin (of Marcos (automobile) fame) and built in Little Staughton, Bedfordshire. Its 2-litre engine and running gear came from the Vauxhall VX 4/90, but its plywood monocoque frame and aerodynamic fibreglass body gave it a top speed of 137 mph (220 km/h), and a quoted 0-60 time of 7.2 sec. The Mitsubishi Starion was a two-door, turbocharged four-cylinder rear-wheel drive four-seat hatchback sports car that was manufactured by Mitsubishi from 1982 to 1989. Rebadged variants were marketed in North America as the Conquest under the Chrysler, Dodge, and Plymouth names. The Starion is one of the first modern Japanese turbocharged performance automobiles to use electronic fuel injection. Mitsubishi began marketing the Starion in 1982, during a period in which a number of Japanese grand tourer (GT) sports cars were available, including the Nissan Z cars, Mazda RX-7, Toyota Supra and to a lesser extent, the Honda Prelude and Isuzu Piazza. The Caterham 7 (or Caterham Seven) is a super-lightweight sports car produced by Caterham Cars in the United Kingdom. It is based on the Lotus Seven, a lightweight sports car sold in kit and factory-built form by Lotus Cars, from 1957 to 1972. After Lotus ended production of the Lotus Seven, Caterham bought the rights to the design, and today make both kits and fully assembled cars. The modern Caterham Seven is based on the Series 3 Lotus Seven, though developed to the point that no part is the same as on the original Lotus. Various other manufacturers offer a sports car in a similar basic configuration, but Caterham owns various legal rights to the Lotus Seven design and name. The company has taken legal action in the past in order to protect those rights, although in South Africa, it lost its case against Birkin on the basis that it never obtained the claimed rights from Lotus.

The Caparo T1 is a British mid-engine, rear-wheel drive, two-seat sports car built by Caparo Vehicle Technologies, founded by design director Ben Scott-Geddes, engineering director Graham Halstead, engineers formerly involved in the development of the McLaren F1 and Sean Butcher, marketing director and financier. The T1 was inspired by Formula One design, and intended as a relatively affordable road legal racing car. The T1 was scheduled for production in mid-2007 for a price of GB�235,000 with approximately 25 cars per year built but as of 2012, 16 examples have been sold in the United Kingdom. The T1 has an estimated maximum speed of 205 miles per hour (330 km/h) on a low downforce setup. The Bond Equipe is an English 2+2 sports car, manufactured by Bond Cars Ltd from 1963 to 1970. It was the first 4-wheeled vehicle from Bond Cars. The original Equipe, the GT, was based on the Triumph Herald chassis with a fastback fibreglass body and also utilised further Triumph parts including the windscreen / scuttle assembly, and doors. The Autozam AZ-1, known as the framecode PG6SA, is a mid-engined sports kei car, designed and manufactured by Suzuki but sold by Mazda under its Autozam brand. Manufactured from October 1992 to 1994, the AZ-1 was noted for its gullwing doors. Power came from the same Suzuki-sourced 657 cc turbocharged engine used by the Mazda Carol that produced 64 PS (47 kW) at 6500 rpm and 85 N�m (63 lb�ft) at 4000 rpm. Suzuki produced its own badge engineered version named the Suzuki Cara (PG6SS).
